On this site you will find my own (somewhat quirky, I'm told!) versions of Russian fairy tales (the original versions are scattered over the net) with illustrations by some of my favourite Russian artists.

Ivan Bilibin (on the left) and Victor Vasnetsov, are not well known outside Russia and books on these great artists are hard to come by.

Featured in most of the stories is the old crone Baba Yaga, often portrayed as an evil witch, but also sometimes as a helper and wise woman. I'm also working on a story of Baba Yaga's male counterpart the zany 'Koshchey the Deathless' - you can't but adore him! Check him out!
